An entire month out from release, this trailer was the last official footage of the game to be released by Konami.* This trailer announced that some features from the previous PES games, such as trait-specific passes, won't be available on release and will be added in a later update. All of the text in this trailer was seemingly translated with Google, with an odd amount of talk about controlling and feeling "the ball touch". This trailer opens with a bafflingly ugly Star Wars-style opening crawl. The gameplay trailer, released in August, has no actual lengthy clips of uninterrupted gameplay. They later added that Master League will be premium DLC and release in early 2022. The community was pretty sceptical about this announcement how can a game truly be next-gen when it runs on phones? There was no talk about any single-player game modes (notably the career mode, Master League) in the release schedule. The reveal trailer was released a month later and announced eFootball's move to a free-to-play model, as well as cross-platform play between PC, current and next-gen PS and Xbox consoles, and iOS and Android devices. While it was never said to be the new eFootball game, it turns out the online performance test was the first look at the brand new, new engine, next-gen release. In a very bizarre move, Konami released the "New Football Game Online Performance Test" in June 2021. They announced the game in July 2020, teasing photorealistic graphics and a move from their in-house Fox Engine (used for Metal Gear Solid) to Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. Lack of content (only 5-minute singleplayer matches and 10-minute online exhibition matches) Low FPS during cutscenes and replays, and bad, missing or confusing display settings The reviews are criticising just about everything in the game Pro Evolution Soccer 20 have 70% and 74% positive reviews respectively. Since its release earlier today, 91% of the almost 5000 reviews are negative. According to Steam250's Hall of Shame, Konami's newly released free-to-play eFootball 2022 is the most negatively reviewed game on Steam.
